This is the Mark II with a 7 by 35 monocular and a 12x tube.
Here is an excellent quality instrument made in Japan in 1969 by Tamaya. Tamaya made sextants for Simex. They were imported to the U.S. by Capt. Simonsen in the 1960s and 1970s.
This is the Mark II with a 7 by 35 monocular and a 12x tube. It is the popular, ladder frame style, well-balanced with a clear, easy to read arc. A good, solid, practical tool for the navigator. The split-image horizon mirror has a trace of staining and will probably need to be replaced in a few years but works fine now. This sextant will take you over any ocean and keep your skills sharp.
