The green verdigris created by years of salt sea air and spray are so perfect on this lamp that I decided to leave it as is.
It is such a temptation to shine and pretty up this British anchor light. But the green verdigris created by years of salt sea air and spray are so perfect on this lamp that I decided to leave it as I found it.
You can certainly clean and polish the light, or just lightly buff and wax over the patina as you choose.
While this is classed as an anchor light to be hung in the rigging while the boat is at anchor, it can also serve as a cabin lamp.
It is fully functional and ready for your lamp oil. It stands ten inches (26 cm) tall plus the two-inch bale. It is in good condition with no cracks or dents. I recommend a low flame and the use of 'ultra pure' lamp oil, as it is soot and odor free.
