The flag measures 22 by 33 inches (58 by 84 cm).
The 1980s were lean and hungry times for Soviet seamen. Many were tempted to jump ship in more prosperous ports. Several found temporary berths above my first shop at the foot of Broadway in Fells Point, Baltimore.
Everyone who stayed at "Happy Harbor" seems to have left something. One young salt left this little flag. I don't remember its meaning and have looked through my Russian references without finding it. If anyone has any information, let me know.
The flag measures 22 by 33 inches (58 by 84 cm). Of wood bunting with a linen hoist strip, it has a few small moth holes, as you can see in the photos. It is unusual, has good color, and is in a nice size. Best of all, it is inexpensive.
