In the years between 1860 and the Great War of 1914, French-made telescopes like this one became the popular standard for portable scopes. This telescope was probably made 100 years ago. It may have had a partial leather cover and a blackened finish. It has since been polished to a high brass finish. It is in good condition with only a couple of tiny scratches and bumps. It has good, clear optics and has its original protective cap. It measures 10 inches closed and 30 inches extended.
